Enterprise-tech industry veteran Wing-Dar Ker is CEO of DYXnet Group, Greater China’s leading carrier-neutral network service provider and a wholly-owned subsidiary of 21Vianet Group. Launched in 1999, DYXnet Group provides enterprise clients worldwide with MPLS network, Internet access, data centre and value-added solutions.
Ker is also President of Shanghai Blue Cloud Technologies Co Ltd, another wholly-owned subsidiary of 21Vianet Group. After joining 21Vianet Group in 2013, Wing drew on his considerable experience with Microsoft, his former employer to collaborate with the Microsoft Product Group and China S&M team to provide commercial and consumer customers in mainland China with Microsoft Azure, Office 365 and Power BI services.
Blue Cloud now delivers a comprehensive, international cloud computing platform – the first commercial model of its kind in China – that offers Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).
By introducing the Cloud Landing in China, or CLIC, program, Ker works to enrich the nation’s cloud computing ecosystem, while helping international companies to satisfy the complex compliance requirements involved in landing their cloud services in China. As such, he is expert in Chinese cloud policy and regulation.
Before joining 21Vianet Group, Ker spent 20 years at Microsoft, where he played various high-profile roles such as General Manager of Customer Services (CSS) & Support for the Asia Pacific and Greater China Region, as well as Asia CIO, Greater China Financial Controller and other S&M roles. He was also responsible for supporting the Asia Pacific, Greater China, America and EMEA regions. During a long and distinguished career, Ker has worked in functional areas such as accounting, finance, customer service, human resources, operations, manufacturing, IT and general affairs.
Prior to his tenure at Microsoft, he was Manager and Group Head of Business Systems Consulting (BSC) at Andersen Consulting (now known as Accenture). He led the sales and business development function, while earning considerable experience in the selection and implementation of financial, accounting and operations-related management information systems. He started his career in New York City, serving several private companies for more than five years before joining Accenture.
Since taking leadership of Blue Cloud, Ker has played a key role in improving the quality of customer service, while promoting innovation and winning a succession of personal and company awards from well-known industry institutions.
Ker holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the National Taiwan University.
Jacky Wan is the Chief Operating Officer of DYXnet Group. He is responsible for the planning and implementation of the strategic direction and operations management of the Group. He is one of the core management team members who has been working for the Group for nearly 20 years.
Upon the Group was acquired 21Vianet Group, Jacky was the Co-CEO of Network Business and fully responsible for the whole Network Business Unit.
Prior to that, Jacky was the Head of IB Team, the newly established team in 2008 aiming to explore the new market of wholesaling business for the Group. He was invited to join this team in 2008 due to his outstanding performance in Hong Kong Direct Sales Team. Starting everything from scratch, he led the IB team from 2009 till 2013 and turned it from a small sales team to a significant revenue contributor of the Group. He successfully brought in global carriers, Fortune 500 companies and renowned international brands as the Group’s clients. With his contribution, DYXnet has become a well-known brand, attracting global carriers who want to establish their presence in China.
Prior to joining the IB team, Jacky has served the Group in Hong Kong Direct Sales Team for nearly 9 years, from Account Executive, Assistant Sales Manager to Strategy Sales Manager. His main focus was key corporate accounts, including global brands and local listed companies. He has been the top salesperson at DYXnet Group for 6 consecutive years and he successfully turned the customers’ monthly contract value 100 times from its original contract amount which demonstrated his capabilities of showing his clients the importance of tailored ICT solutions and winning their trust.
Jacky previously held position in the Business Promotion Department of Sakura Bank (currently known as Sumitomo Mitsui Bank) and was responsible for handling corporate financing issues of Japanese corporate accounts.
Jacky obtained a bachelor’s degree in Japanese Studies from Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1997.
Fion Yuen is a financial professional of more than 25 years’ standing and currently serves as Chief Financial Officer to DYXnet Group, Greater China’s leading carrier-neutral network service provider. She is a member of the core management team and formerly served as Financial Controller.
Leading a 90 people strong team, Fion is responsible for Group functions that include capital and operating budgets, financial affairs and reporting, debt and treasury management, tax planning, legal affairs, contract management and credit control, as well as corporate governance, IT and software development.
Before beginning her seven-year tenure at DYXnet Group, Fion was Financial Controller at the Nixon Technology systems integration organisation, focusing on security and alarm systems. She was mainly responsible for establishing company policy and strengthening internal controls. Besides, she also oversaw human resources and the administrative function.
Fion previously served the Singapore-listed Elec & Eltek Group PCB manufacturing company as Finance Manager. She oversaw financial budgeting and reporting and managing banking relationships.
In the 1990s, Fion gained four years’ experience in areas such as IPO activity, working for Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
Fion graduated from Melbourne’s Monash University in Australia with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She is a Fellow Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) and a member of CPA Australia.
As DYXnet Group’s Chief Technology Officer, Max Yeung’s responsibilities centre on establishing a leadership position in the areas of network architecture and security, as well as Internet connectivity, cloud computing and data centre capabilities.
He is a telecommunications industry veteran and holds more than 20 years’ experience in engineering, consultancy, network architecture, product development and management, along with a strong background in data analytics.
Max was previously President, Technology and Research specialising in backbone engineering, development of operational support systems and advanced IP-optimised networking architecture. As such, he played a significant role in pioneering the standards and technologies that have shaped today’s Internet world.
He graduated from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering.
